YULIA, YULIA

These amazing paper cut illustrations are made by the artist and graphic designer Yulia Brodskaya. Originally from Russia, she is now living and creating these incredible works of art in London, England.

We think it illustrates (no pun intended!) that even with all the available technology that we have at our fingertips, art really shines through the handmade craft, and the effort and time that it took to make. Yulia has made comissions for companies ranging from the Guardian Newspaper, to the superpower of Starbucks.

CLUTCH THIS!

These beautiful darlings have been created by Red Ruby Rose, hailing from Brighton, UK, who is selling them online in her Etsy store .

They are cool and fashion forward because of their originality and graphic designs printed on them, as well as the contrasting duppon silk that lines them. The clutches can be used for a special gift, fun night out or even as a one of a kind wedding accessory! Some of the purses are even made up of fabric created from Red Ruby Rose's photos.

TYPE COOL TYPE

Wow. After looking at all the amazing examples out there we realized how much we really, really love typography . The thing is, that it's such an effective and liberal way to show off your graphic style, while maintaining the somewhat regular structure of the alphabet. Here are just a few examples of the coolness out there.

all three above are by Andrei d. Robu

Guy and I have an obsession with anything watercolor. The digital watercolor is getting better and better at looking like the real thing, while allowing more flexibility to do as you like. The following type is one of our favorites!

ROB JOE ILLUSTRATIONS

We think this designer is really cool.

His work is original, simple yet effective. We love all the different ideas and colors! You can find more of his work here.

BLACK CAB MUSIC

We just discovered this amazing site recently and we honestly can't get enough of it! It is made by the film company Just So Films, with artist selection by Hidden Fruit. It features a variety of artists under the slogan, "One Song, One Take, One Cab". Every artist performs a song in a black cab, while being filmed. The songs are beautiful, pure, and true, free of over-production and artificial influence. While there are quite a few known artists featured, some are simply hidden gems that they have brought forth to the world!

We also love, love, LOVE King Charles in his Black Cab Session.

INGRID ANDERSON TEXTILE

We thought these contemporary textiles, printed and sewn in New Zealand, were really cool! It's great how they use traditional native art inspiration, revitalized in a simple, modern way.

DIPTYCH FEVER

Vinyl Love, originally uploaded by ohyourenofun.

Sometimes two is better than one. I usually make a diptych out of photos that don't do much on their own, but speak volumes in pairs. It's amazing how simple changes and composition can bring forth a whole new idea. What do you like about diptychs? Do you usually set out to make one, or does it simply end up that way?

Here are some cool examples I found around the web. Send a link in the comments to any funky diptychs you've got!
